The first edition of Frozen Sun Fest, a festival from fans of heavy sound for fans of heavy sound. The headliner of the first edition will be Decapitated – Polish technical death metal band, which built a reputation over the years as one of the international leaders of their genre. Over their near 25-year career, Decapitated has released seven studio albums, which are considered to be some of the most influential death metal releases of the 21st century. Their newest album Anticult has seen them cross-breed various styles and sounds, flirting with various tempos, mixing death metal with grindcore, black metal atmospheres with more groove laden beats and stoner-rock vibes, there are also modern metal rhythmic riffs on Decapitated’s latest output that hark back to their past releases. The second band to perform at Frozen Sun Fest is Illusion - founded in 1992 in Gdańsk by Tomasz "Lipa" Lipnicki (vocals, guitar), Jurek "Jerry" Rutkowski (guitar) and Paweł Herbasch (drums), who were soon joined by Jarek Śmigiel (bass). Already in 1993, they won the Marlboro Rock-in contest, performed at the Jarocin Festival and the Art Festival in Żarnowiec, and appeared in Switzerland at the Gampel Festival. Illusion released five albums in the 1990s, and with the songs Nóż, Vendetta or Cierń they quickly gained recognition from fans of heavy sound for a long time. He was nominated for Fryderyk awards and won three gold records in the days when they were awarded for selling at least 100,000 copies.
